Pricing
Flat fees. Annual binder. No subscription.
Three tiers picked by engineering Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) headcount. Optional add-ons for state credits, quarterly contemporaneous tracking, foreign-research workpapers, and audit-defense engagement.
Annual binder tiers
Pick by engineering FTE headcount. The deliverable format is identical across tiers; what scales is the depth of business-component analysis and QRE allocation work.

Add-ons
Optional scope extensions, priced separately so the base tier stays simple. All add-ons require an active annual binder engagement; none of them stand alone.
State R&D credit workpaper
$995
Per state, in addition to your annual binder. Available for all states with an R&D tax credit.
- State QRE definition mapping (most states track federal closely)
- State-specific qualifying-activity rules
- Form layout matching the state agency template
- Per-state filing instructions for your CPA
See state-specific guides: State R&D credits (Arizona, California, Connecticut, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Texas).
Quarterly contemporaneous tracking
$1,799 / year
Or $499 per quarter, in addition to your annual binder. Adds quarterly snapshots throughout the year.
- Quarterly snapshot of qualifying activity
- Mid-year QRE projection updates
- Compounds the contemporaneous-documentation expectation under IRS Notice 2023-63
- Reduces year-end binder drafting time
Section 174A foreign R&E workpaper
$1,995 / year
In addition to your annual binder. For customers with foreign R&E spend that capitalizes over 15 years under post-OBBBA Section 174A(c).
- Foreign R&E identification and allocation
- 15-year amortization schedule
- Coordination with the federal Section 41 binder (foreign R&E does not qualify for the credit)
- Domestic versus foreign segregation worksheet
Audit-defense engagement
Hourly
Scoped separately. Available if the IRS opens an Information Document Request (IDR) on a return that included our binder; in addition to your annual binder engagement.
- Binder-specific factual question support
- Source-citation verification with examiner
- Coordination with your CPA or tax counsel through our partner CPA firm
- The IDR response itself is owned by your CPA or counsel, not us
Payment and refunds
Order through delivery in six steps. Click-wrap acceptance covers the full agreement set; no PDFs to print or sign.
- Pick a tier and submit the order form. Six inputs: company legal name, work email, engineering FTE count (with a tier-fit check), tax year for the binder, a CPA-of-record yes/no confirmation, and click-wrap acceptance of our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Master Services Agreement, and Data Processing Agreement. Roughly two minutes. No payment yet.
- Pay in full via Stripe Checkout. An order confirmation email arrives with a Stripe Checkout link. Single charge, no subscription.
- Complete the post-payment intake. A payment-confirmation email arrives with the heavier intake form: entity type, state of incorporation, fiscal year end, primary technical contact, CPA contact, secure upload widgets for your payroll register and contractor invoices, and a read-only GitHub App install link for your engineering organization. Roughly 10 to 15 minutes if your payroll and contractor files are at hand; closer to 30 if you have to chase them down.
- No subscription. The binder is an annual fixed-scope product. No recurring charge.
- 25 percent annual renewal discount. Renew the next tax year for the same tier and pay 25 percent less. Add-ons price separately.
- Refunds. Limited to one scenario: if, after payment, we determine the customer's submitted inputs cannot produce a binder that meets our quality standards, we refund the engagement fee in full. We do not refund based on the credit your CPA chooses to claim, the return position your CPA takes, post-delivery dissatisfaction with binder content, or change of mind.
What is not included
Five things deliberately out of scope, with handoff guidance.
- Form 6765 filing. Your CPA files the return; we never sign Form 6765. See the about page for the doc-only thesis.
- Tax advice. No legal opinions, no method-of-accounting elections, no return-position calls. Talk to your CPA or tax counsel.
- Payroll-tax-offset filing. If you elect the Section 41(h) Qualified Small Business payroll-tax offset, your payroll provider or CPA files Form 8974 after Form 6765 is accepted. The binder gives you what you need; we do not file the offset.
- Bookkeeping cleanup. If your payroll register or contractor-invoice records are incomplete, fix that with your bookkeeper first. The binder uses your books; we do not produce them.
- State credit filings. State workpapers (per-state add-on at $995) are documentation; the state filing itself is your CPA's job, same as federal.
